Frequently Asked Questions
Taurus G2 for sale
Are Taurus G2C known for jamming?
The G2C has a mixed reliability record. Some owners report jamming, often linked to tight new magazines, limp-wristing, or worn springs. Many resolve issues through a break-in period, proper grip technique, and magazine maintenance. Quality varies by individual unit.
Is a Taurus G2C a good gun?
The Taurus G2C is a budget 9mm compact pistol selling around $247. It offers solid ergonomics, a 12-round capacity, and reliable performance after a break-in period. It's a strong value for concealed carry, though quality control can vary, so inspect yours carefully.
How much does a G2c cost?
Taurus G2C pistols typically retail between $199 and $289, with most selling around $208. Street prices often run lower than the listed price. Prices vary by retailer and configuration.
Is Taurus discontinuing the G2c?
No, Taurus has not discontinued the G2C. It remains in active production and is widely available across multiple retailers, typically priced around $247. Newer models like the GX4 exist alongside it, but the G2C continues to be sold.
What does G2C mean on a gun?
G2C is Taurus's model designation for a compact 9mm striker-fired pistol. "G2" references its lineage from the PT111 G2 series, and "C" denotes compact size. It holds 12 rounds, is striker-fired, and is widely sold as an affordable concealed carry option.
What extended mags fit Taurus G2C?
Taurus G2C accepts 12-round factory magazines. Aftermarket extended options include 15- and 17-round magazines, plus Lakeline +3 base pad extensions that bring compatible mags to 20 rounds. Note that extended magazines may not fit standard concealed carry holsters designed for the G2C.
What is the best holster for a Taurus G2C?
Popular G2C holsters include Bravo Concealment, Vedder LightTuck, and Tulster Profile for IWB carry, or Safariland and Blackhawk for OWB. Kydex options offer good retention and durability starting around $40. Your best choice depends on carry position, clothing, and whether you prioritize concealment or draw speed.
Can you get a threaded barrel for a Taurus G2C?
Yes. Lakeline manufactures threaded barrels for the G2C in 9mm with 1/2x28 threading, typically priced at $120–$145. Minor fitting may be required during installation, and thread protector caps are sold separately.
