Classic Chiappa models
Chiappa was founded in 1958 by Ezechiele Chiappa in Brescia, Italy, as Armi Sport; it remains family-owned, with US headquarters in Dayton, Ohio.

Chiappa model names explained
- 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 (Rhino)
- First digit is the barrel length in inches: 30DS = 3-inch, 60DS = 6-inch.
- DS / D
- Rhino trigger: DS = double/single action, D = double-action only.
- SAR
- Single Action Rhino: single-action-only version made for sale in California.
- L-Frame
- Larger Rhino frame introduced for the .44 Magnum 60DS in 2026.
- Wildlands
- Chiappa's modern 1892 and 1886 lever-actions: 16–18.5 in barrels, laminate or synthetic stocks, take-down and angle-eject versions.
