Frequently Asked Questions
Taurus 9mm slim for sale
How much is the Taurus slim 9mm?
Taurus 709 Slim 9mm pistols average around $129 on the used market, though some individual listings reach up to $249.99. The original MSRP was $349–$400. Note that Taurus has discontinued this model, so availability is limited.
Is Taurus 709 Slim a good gun?
Quality opinions vary widely. Some owners report reliable performance after 500+ rounds; others experienced early feeding issues or sight problems. It's a compact, affordable carry option. Research individual reviews carefully before buying.
Is the Taurus 709 Slim discontinued?
Yes, Taurus discontinued the 709 Slim, replacing it with the G2C/G3C line. Three variants still appear across eight retailers, but none are currently in stock. Used pricing typically runs $218–$249, below the original $349–$400 MSRP.
What is the recoil like on a Taurus 709 Slim?
Recoil on the 709 Slim is moderate for a compact 9mm. Its dual-spring recoil system reduces felt recoil compared to similarly sized pistols. The lightweight frame means it kicks more than full-size 9mms, but most shooters, including smaller individuals, find it manageable.
How many rounds does a Taurus 709 Slim hold?
The Taurus 709 Slim holds 7 rounds in its flush-fit magazine plus 1 in the chamber, for a total capacity of 8 rounds. Aftermarket extended magazines are available that can add one or two additional rounds.
What magazines are compatible with Taurus 709 Slim?
The Taurus 709 Slim uses single-stack 7-round magazines. Factory Taurus magazines and ProMag's TAU 20 aftermarket option are compatible. Extended capacity magazines are readily available, including a ProMag 10-round option and a 15-round blue steel magazine. Due to its slim single-stack design, use only magazines made for this frame.
What is the Taurus PT709 slim?
Taurus PT709 Slim is a compact 9mm semi-automatic pistol designed for concealed carry. It features a 3.2-inch barrel, weighs 19 ounces, and holds 7+1 rounds. Built with a polymer frame and steel slide, it measures 6.24 inches long.
