What the GunsNPrices app does

GunsNPrices app comparing one box of 9mm ammo across 20 stores, in-stock stores first, with the price per round

Compare every store's price

Search by model, brand, caliber or UPC, and the app lists the item's current price at every store we track, from more than 40 US online retailers. Stores that have it in stock come first, so the lowest price you can actually buy is at the top. One tap opens the store's own product page in Safari.

Watch price screen in the GunsNPrices app: alert on any price drop, below a target price, or when the item is back in stock

Price drop and back-in-stock alerts

Tap the bell on any gun or box of ammo to watch it. Choose any price drop or set a target price, and turn on the back-in-stock alert for items that are sold out. You get at most one notification a day per item, and the watchlist shows how much each item has dropped since you added it.

Today's biggest price drops

The Deals tab lists guns and ammo that are in stock and at least 10% cheaper than at the last price update. If you turn it on, the app sends the top deals once in the morning, and it stays quiet on days with fewer than five deals. The same deals are on our Deals page.

Ammo product page in the GunsNPrices app showing the lowest price and the price per round for 9mm ammo

Price per round for ammo

Every store's ammo price comes with the price per round, so a 20-round box, a 50-round box and a 1,000-round case compare at a glance. The product page also shows the key specs and other versions of the same item.

Is there an app that can compare gun prices?

Yes. A gun price comparison app collects the prices that different stores ask for the same product and shows them on one screen, so you don't have to open a dozen store sites. GunsNPrices matches offers by UPC and model number, so the same pistol, rifle, shotgun or box of ammo from different stores lands on one product page, with the lowest in-stock price and the number of stores that have it.

You can narrow a search by brand, caliber, action, capacity, barrel length, price range and stock, and sort by the number of stores in stock, by price, by the biggest price drop or by the newest items. Search suggestions show matching models, brands and calibers as you type, which helps when you only remember part of a model name.

Ammo prices and price per round

For ammunition the app shows the price per round next to every store's price. That is usually the fastest way to see whether a bulk case is really a better deal than a few boxes, and it works the same way for handgun, rifle, rimfire and shotgun ammo.

To track ammo prices, watch the box or case you buy most often. The app checks it every day and tells you when it gets cheaper or comes back in stock, and the Deals tab has a separate Ammo view for today's drops.

Gun pricing app or gun value app: which one do you need?

People use "gun pricing" for two different things: what a gun costs new in stores today, and what a used gun is worth. They need different tools.

GunsNPrices is the first kind. It does not appraise used guns. To find out what a used or collectible gun is worth, use a gun value guide or look at recent sold listings for the same model and condition.

How the prices work

  • Prices and stock come from the stores' own data and are refreshed once a day. Check the final price on the store's page before you buy.
  • We don't sell guns or ammo. Store links open the retailer's website. Guns ship to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you: see how to buy a gun online.
  • Some store links are affiliate links: the store may pay us a commission, which doesn't change your price. Partner stores may be listed above other stores in price tables.
  • Offers that a store hasn't confirmed for 14 days are hidden.

Private by design

There is no sign-up and no email. The app creates an anonymous install ID to keep your watchlist and alert settings, and it has no ads and no tracking. The details are in our Privacy Policy.

Not on iPhone?

There is no Android app yet. On Android or on a computer, gunsnprices.com has the same prices and daily deals, and Firefox users can add our free GunsNPrices extension, which checks prices while you browse store pages.
