Classic Stoeger models
Stoeger was founded in 1924 as a New York City gun store; Beretta bought it in 2000, and it is now a subsidiary of Benelli USA (Beretta Holding) in Accokeek, Maryland.

A.F. Stoeger imported DWM Parabellum pistols stamped “Luger” and registered the Luger name in the US in 1929. - 1924

Began as a New York City gun store, later moved to New Jersey and then to Accokeek, Maryland. - 1994

Stoeger sold a US-made stainless-steel version of the Luger in 9mm. - 2000

Stoeger model names explained
- STR
- Stoeger’s striker-fired pistol series; the number gives the caliber (STR-9 = 9mm, STR-40 = .40 S&W, STR-45 = .45 ACP).
- F / C / SC / MC
- Frame sizes of the STR-9: Full Size, Compact, Sub Compact, Micro Compact.
- Combat / Combat X
- STR versions with an enlarged magwell and adjustable fiber-optic sights; the Combat X (2024) has a full-length frame with a three-slot rail.
- Thinline / Thinline+
- STR-9 with a one-inch-wide slide on a standard-size grip (2025); the Thinline+ (2026) adds a ported barrel and tritium sights.
- Inertia Driven
- Benelli’s recoil-operated system (inertia spring plus rotating locking bolt head) used in the M3000, M3020 and M3500.
