Frequently Asked Questions
Taurus 9mm for sale
Is a 9mm Taurus a good gun?
Taurus 9mm pistols like the G2C and G3C offer reliable performance at a budget-friendly price point, typically under $300. Most owners report good accuracy and dependable function for concealed carry or home defense. They lack premium features found in higher-end brands, but represent solid value for cost-conscious buyers.
What are common problems with the Taurus 9mm?
Taurus 9mm pistols, particularly the G2C, occasionally experience magazine seating issues, slide operation difficulty, and failure to return to battery. Some users report intermittent safety engagement during firing. Most issues resolve with proper maintenance and firm magazine insertion. Reliability generally improves after a break-in period using quality ammunition.
How much does a Taurus 9mm revolver cost?
Taurus 9mm revolvers, specifically the 905 model, typically cost around $400 based on current marketplace listings. Prices range between $341 and $509 depending on condition and retailer. The 905 holds 5 rounds and is commonly used for concealed carry.
Does Taurus have a 9mm revolver?
Yes. Taurus manufactures the 905, a five-shot 9mm revolver designed for concealed carry. It features a 2-inch barrel, subcompact frame, and uses Taurus Stellar Clips for reloading. Pricing typically falls around $278, though availability and variants change over time.
Is the Taurus G3c a safe gun?
The Taurus G3c is available in variants with or without a manual safety, so the configuration depends on the specific model purchased. All versions include a trigger safety. Safe handling depends on the user following proper firearm rules, keeping it maintained, and storing it responsibly.
Which is better, Taurus G2C or G3c?
G3C offers better frame finish, metal sights, and one extra round (13 vs 12 capacity) compared to G2C. Both are striker-fired 9mm compacts suited for concealed carry. G3C costs roughly $30 more. If budget is tight, G2C works fine; G3C provides modest upgrades worth considering.
What ammo is best for the Taurus G3c?
G3c shoots standard 9mm. Federal HST, Hornady Critical Defense, and Fiocchi Dynamic Defense 124-grain JHP all feed reliably in this pistol. Some users report feed issues with certain hollow points due to the steep feed ramp, so test your chosen round before relying on it for carry.
What is the smallest Taurus 9mm pistol?
The Taurus GX4 is their smallest 9mm pistol—a micro-compact with a 1-inch-wide frame, 3.06-inch barrel, and 11-round capacity. It weighs 18.5 ounces unloaded and typically costs under $400.
