Frequently Asked Questions
Taurus .380 ACP for sale
Is Taurus .380 a good gun?
Taurus .380 models receive mixed reviews. The Spectrum is praised for ergonomics and manageable recoil but has reported reliability issues. The 380 UL revolver is concealable with mild recoil but requires moon clips. Prices range $132–$478. Suitability depends on your reliability expectations and intended use.
What is the price of Taurus 380 pistol?
Taurus .380 pistols average $290.04 new and $181.95 used, with some listings reaching $527.99. Popular variants include the Spectrum, TCP PT-738, and 380 UL, each with different retail values. Availability and pricing vary by retailer.
What are the common issues with Taurus 380?
Reported issues include light primer strikes, jamming, and extraction problems. Some users report oversized recoil springs that are difficult to reinstall. Trigger quality and manufacturing consistency have drawn criticism. Ammunition compatibility and unsupported chamber concerns also arise. Reliability varies by individual unit and ammunition type.
How many rounds does a Taurus 380 hold?
Taurus makes multiple .380 models with different capacities. The 380 UL revolver holds 5 rounds. The Spectrum comes with two magazines: a standard 6-round and an extended 7-round. Capacity depends on which specific model you're asking about.
Will a .380 stop a person?
A .380 ACP can stop a person with accurate shot placement and quality defensive ammunition. It's less powerful than 9mm and offers less margin for error, but many people carry it successfully for self-defense. Bullet placement matters more than caliber in most real-world defensive situations.
Does Taurus still make a 380 pistol?
Yes, Taurus currently makes several .380 ACP pistols, including the Spectrum, Curve, TCP PT-738, and 380 UL. Prices typically run around $240, though availability varies by model and retailer.
