Frequently Asked Questions
Taurus .357 Magnum 7 Shot Revolver for sale
Does Taurus make a 7 shot 357?
Yes. Taurus makes two 7-shot .357 Magnum revolvers: the Model 66 and the Model 617. Both are double-action/single-action designs. The Model 66 also accepts .38 Special and .38 Special +P ammunition and comes in multiple barrel lengths and finishes.
What is the best Taurus 357 revolver?
"Best" depends on your needs. The 605 is compact for concealed carry with 5 shots. The 66 offers 7-shot capacity accepting both .357 Magnum and .38 Special. The 627 provides an 8-shot option. Consider intended use, barrel length, and capacity when choosing.
How much does a Taurus revolver typically cost?
Taurus revolvers typically range from about $360 to $914. Entry-level models like the 605 start near $360, mid-range options average around $500, and larger-capacity self-defense revolvers can reach $900 or more, depending on caliber, capacity, and finish.
What are common problems with Taurus revolvers?
Reported issues include misfires in certain models, cylinder chambers with loose tolerances, and transfer bar failures in older production runs. Quality control has reportedly improved in recent years. Individual reliability varies; checking current owner reviews and warranty support is advisable before purchase.
