Frequently Asked Questions
Springfield XDM Elite 9mm for sale
Is the Springfield XDM Elite 9mm discontinued?
Springfield Armory has discontinued the XD-M Elite 9mm line, with specific models like the XD-M Elite 4.5" 9mm confirmed discontinued on their site. Our marketplace still shows 16 of 17 Elite variants in stock across 28 retailers, typically priced around $559, with most listings between $369–$691 while supplies last.
What are the common problems with the XD-M Elite 9mm?
User reports mention a striker retainer roll pin that can eventually fail, though it's not guaranteed. Some owners experienced stiff triggers, occasional jamming with certain ammunition types, and grip angles that felt awkward. Most users report reliable performance overall.
Will an XDM holster fit an XDM Elite?
Standard XD-M holsters may fit XD-M Elite models, but compatibility isn't guaranteed. The main concern is opening position and width. Some manufacturers now make XD-M holsters to Elite specs so aftermarket controls fit. Verify clearance before buying, or choose a holster specifically designed for the XD-M Elite for reliable retention.
Is XDM Elite good for concealed carry?
Springfield's 3.8" Compact model suits concealed carry best, offering a shorter frame, 14-round capacity, and match-grade trigger. Full-size variants work but are bulkier. The line remains an active product, with many variants available through retailers around $559. Suitability ultimately depends on your body type and holster choice.
What's the difference between XD-M and XD-M Elite?
The XD-M Elite adds a match-grade trigger, flared magazine well, higher capacity magazines, and optics-ready OSP variants. Both share the same striker-fired platform and frame sizes, with the Elite being Springfield's modernized lineup. The standard XD-M and Elite are often compared as current offerings in the XD-M family.
Does the XD-M Elite have a threaded barrel?
Not all XD-M Elite variants have threaded barrels. The XD-M Elite 4.5" OSP Threaded features an extended threaded barrel for suppressor use, available in 9mm, 10mm, and .45 ACP. The 3.8" models are not threaded. Check our marketplace for current listings across these configurations.
