Frequently Asked Questions
Springfield XDM Elite for sale
Is the Springfield Armory XDM Elite a good gun?
"Good" depends on your needs. The XD-M Elite earns praise for reliability and accuracy in law enforcement, competition, and self-defense roles. It comes in 9mm, 10mm, and .45 ACP in compact and full-size frames, priced $405–$751. Some users report aftermarket parts compatibility issues.
What's the difference between XD-M and XD-M Elite?
XD-M Elite features an improved trigger, flared magazine well, and higher-capacity magazines compared to the original XD-M. Both share the same striker-fired platform and caliber options, but Elite models offer refined ergonomics and controls. The two remain distinct product lines, with both continuing to hold relevance in Springfield's lineup.
What are the common problems with the XD-M Elite 9mm?
Common problems reported with the XD-M Elite 9mm include casing ejection and extraction failures, triggers not engaging after reassembly, and magazine reliability issues serious enough that at least one sheriff's department ended their contract early. Some owners also report feeding problems with certain ammunition and find the trigger feel or grip angle uncomfortable.
Did Springfield discontinue the XD-M Elite 10mm?
Springfield has discontinued most XD-M Elite models, including the full-size 10mm variants, with Springfield's own site listing them as discontinued. The XD-M Elite series is being replaced by a new pistol. A compact 10mm version may still be available. Check our marketplace for current listings.
What is the price of the Springfield XD-M Elite 10mm?
Springfield XD-M Elite 10mm pistols typically cost around $585, with most listings ranging from $406 to $752 depending on barrel length, finish, and included sights.
Will an XDM holster fit an XDM Elite?
Most standard XDM holsters fit XDM Elite models. The main fitment considerations are the holster's opening width and retention. Many holster makers explicitly list compatibility with both XD-M and XD-M Elite, and some have updated their molds using the Elite as the new standard. Check compatibility before purchasing.
