Frequently Asked Questions
Springfield XDE 9mm for sale
Did Springfield discontinue the XDE?
Yes, Springfield Armory discontinued the XD-E in December 2021, about three and a half years after its 2018 launch. New production has ended, though used models and remaining inventory still circulate through retailers, typically around $494.
Is the Springfield XDE any good?
Springfield's XD-E is reliable and well-regarded for concealed carry, offering DA/SA hammer-fired operation in a slim single-stack design. Reviewers praise its accuracy and durability. It suits shooters who prefer hammer-fired pistols over striker-fired alternatives and remains worth seeking out on our marketplace.
What does XDE stand for in Springfield?
In Springfield's XD-E, the "E" stands for external hammer. It was a hammer-fired, single-stack pistol designed for concealed carry, available in 9mm and .45 ACP. Springfield Armory has since discontinued the entire XD-E line after barely four years of production.
How big is the Springfield XDE?
Springfield's XD-E measures 6.75 inches long and 5 inches tall with a flush magazine, or 5.25 inches with the extended magazine. Width is one inch. Weight ranges from 24.8 to 25.6 ounces depending on the magazine used.
What holster will fit a Springfield XD 9mm?
Springfield XD 9mm holsters come in IWB, OWB, and hybrid designs from makers like Mission First Tactical, Comp-Tac, and Alien Gear. Fit depends on your XD's barrel length—4-inch models are most common. Many XD holsters also fit .40 S&W versions due to shared dimensions. Check your specific barrel length when ordering.
