Frequently Asked Questions
FN PS90 for sale
Can you legally own a PS90?
Yes, the PS90 is legal to own federally as a civilian rifle. FN manufactures it with a 16.04-inch barrel to meet the NFA's minimum rifle barrel length requirement. State laws vary, so check your local regulations before purchasing, as some states restrict certain features.
Is the FN PS90 worth it?
Worth depends on your needs. Priced around $1,699 (range: $1,500–$1,917), it excels at personal defense with low recoil and good accuracy, making it suitable for smaller shooters. Downsides include bulky magazines and expensive ammo. It won't replace an AR-15. Test one before buying if possible.
How much is a PS90 worth today?
A PS90 typically costs $1,669–$1,691 new, with listings ranging from $1,500 to $2,997 depending on finish and retailer, with FDE variants commanding higher prices. Used models average $1,434–$1,659 depending on the source. FN currently produces this rifle, and 25 retailers currently have stock available.
Is there a FRT for a PS90?
Yes. Dorin Technologies makes the FRT90, a forced reset trigger designed specifically for the PS90. It has a 3-position selector with Safe, Semi, and FRT modes, retails for around $450, and first shipments are expected in March 2026. It replaces the factory fire control components.
Can you get a short barrel PS90?
Yes. The PS90 can be configured as a short-barreled rifle (SBR) under NFA rules. You must file ATF Form 1 and pay the $200 tax stamp before shortening the barrel. A 10.4-inch aftermarket replacement barrel is also available from dealers like Capitol Armory to convert your PS90 into an SBR.
What accessories are available for FN PS90?
FN PS90 accessories include optic mounts, extended charging handles, sling kits, side rails with QD mounts, magazine pouches, and Delrin mag rollers. Aftermarket options include short barrels for SBR builds, suppressors rated for 5.7x28mm, and the FRT90 forced reset trigger.
How far can a PS90 shoot?
The PS90 has an effective range of about 200 yards with standard 5.7x28mm ammunition. The round loses velocity noticeably beyond 100 yards, making precision shots at longer distances difficult. It performs best in close-quarters situations.
Where is PS90 made?
The PS90 is manufactured by FN Herstal in Liège, Belgium, then imported into the United States through FN America's operations in McLean, Virginia.
