Perfect combination of caliber, barrel length, weight and dimensions for concealed carry and self defense.

With a comparable S&W M60 3" running almost twice the price, this is a very well put together wheelgun
Accurate & Powerful19%
Very accurate and snappy with full power loads, as to be expected.
Great CCW Option17%
Great size for a ccw with plenty of stopping power with the 357 magnum cartridge.
Common concerns
Heavy Recoil with .35714%
when I loaded 357 the thing became a boom stick and lead shavings cam back at myself
Stiff/Gritty Trigger14%
has a very stiff trigger in DA, hopefully it will shoot in
Grip Design Issues11%
the grip gets in the way of a speed loader, so, if you want to use a speed loader you must modify the grip
Fiber Optic Sight Fragile3%
the fiber optic site is a little flimsy though mine fell out
Frequently Asked Questions
Taurus 605 SS for sale
Is the Taurus 605 stainless steel?
Yes, the Taurus 605 is available in stainless steel. Its frame, cylinder, and barrel are constructed from stainless steel with a matte finish, providing corrosion resistance.
What are the common problems with the Taurus 605 revolver?
Users report fixed-sight accuracy issues, inconsistent trigger pull, and quality control problems. Some experience reliability failures. Being a compact .357 Magnum, recoil is significant and can make extended shooting uncomfortable.
Is the Taurus 605 safe to carry?
The 605 is designed for concealed carry and features double-action operation. Safe carry depends primarily on proper holstering and user training. Note that the 605 line includes multiple variants such as the 605 Defender and 605 Protector Poly, and safety features may differ across models — check your specific variant's specifications.
Can Taurus 605 shoot +P?
The Taurus 605 can fire .357 Magnum, standard .38 Special, and possibly .38 Special +P, but +P compatibility may vary by variant. Some guidebooks warn against +P use, while Taurus representatives say steel models handle it. Check your specific model's manual before using +P ammunition.
