Frequently Asked Questions
Sig Sauer P226 for sale
What are common problems with a P226?
Common P226 issues include light primer strikes, failures to extract, and stovepipes. Most stem from worn magazines, dirty internals, weak recoil springs, or poor ammunition rather than the gun itself. Proper maintenance, quality magazines, and decent ammunition typically resolve these problems.
What is the price of the P226 MK25?
P226 MK25 pistols typically sell around $1,300, with most listings ranging from $879 to $2,300. The manufacturer's suggested retail price sits between $1,050 and $1,200. Prices vary by retailer, condition, and specific variant.
Is the Sig Sauer P226 MK25 a good gun?
The P226 MK25 is widely regarded as excellent. Built for naval special warfare, it's accurate, reliable, and handles fast follow-up shots well. Its double-action trigger is manageable with practice. Extensive military and law enforcement adoption confirms its combat-proven quality, though its size and weight may not suit everyone.
What makes the MK25 so special?
Naval Special Warfare adopted the MK25 as their standard sidearm in 1989. Its stainless steel slide, chrome-lined bore, and Nitron finish resist saltwater corrosion. Phosphate-coated internals, SIGLite night sights, and G10 grips add durability and control. Decades of combat use in extreme conditions back its reputation.
Which SIG Sauer P226 is best?
Best depends on your needs. The Legion series excels for precision and competition shooting. The MK25 suits tactical and duty use with superior corrosion resistance. For humid environments, stainless variants handle moisture better. Match the model to your intended use: concealed carry, duty, or sport shooting.
What is the price of the SIG Sauer P226 Legion?
SIG Sauer P226 Legion pistols typically cost around $1,300, with prices ranging from roughly $950 to $1,525 depending on the variant and retailer.
Is the SIG P226 good for concealed carry?
The P226 is a full-size metal-frame pistol designed for duty use. Its size and weight make concealed carry difficult for most people. Smaller SIG models like the P365 or P320 Compact are better suited for everyday concealed carry.
How much is a SIG P226 9mm worth?
SIG P226 9mm pistols currently average around $1,637 new, with prices ranging from roughly $879 to $2,300 depending on the variant, finish, and retailer. Used models sell for less. Legion and elite variants command higher prices than standard models.
