Frequently Asked Questions
Glock 23 Gen 4 for sale
Is a Glock 23 Gen 4 a good gun?
Whether it's good depends on your needs. The Glock 23 Gen 4 is a compact striker-fired pistol chambered in .40 S&W with a 13-round capacity, suitable for concealed carry. It's reliable and accurate but discontinued, available used for around $550.
Is the Glock 23 Gen 4 discontinued?
Yes, Glock discontinued the Gen 4 Model 23. The compact .40 S&W pistol is no longer in production, though used examples remain available through secondary markets.
What slides fit on a Glock 23?
Glock 19 slides fit Glock 23 frames since both share the same compact platform, though you'll need the correct barrel and extractor for your caliber. Aftermarket options like Norsso and KM Tactical offer compatible slides, many with optics cuts.
How much is the slide for the Glock 23?
Aftermarket Glock 23 slides typically range from $200 to $510 depending on finish and features. Basic options start around $200, while custom designs with RMR cuts or ported barrels run $270–$510.
Is a Glock 23 too big to carry?
No. Glock designed the 23 as a compact pistol specifically for concealed carry, delivering .40 S&W power in a frame matching the popular Glock 19's size and weight. With proper holster selection, it remains easily concealable for most body types and carry methods.
Does a Glock 23 have a threaded barrel?
Glock offers factory threaded barrels for the G23 Gen3 and Gen4. Aftermarket threaded barrels are also available from manufacturers like SilencerCo, Lone Wolf Arms, and Gorilla Machining, allowing attachment of suppressors or compensators via drop-in installation.
What is a Glock 23 in 40?
The Glock 23 is a compact, striker-fired pistol chambered in .40 S&W. It holds 13 rounds standard, features a 4.02-inch barrel, and is popular for concealed carry. It offers full-power .40 S&W performance in a smaller frame than the full-size Glock 22.
What is the best holster for a Glock 23 Gen 4?
Best choice depends on your carry style. IWB holsters keep the Glock 23 concealed close to your body. Tuckable designs work under dress clothing. Kydex options from Bravo Concealment, Vedder, and Safariland offer solid retention and durability. Try a few to find your preferred fit.
