Hornady .222 Remington Superformance Varmint ammunition loaded with the non-traditional 35 grain NTX bullet provides a lead-free option for varmint hunters.
An extension of the original Hornady Superformance hunting ammunition, this round applies the same propellant technology to smaller caliber cartridges. The propellant is completely burned by the time the bullet exits the muzzle, increasing accuracy with no increased muzzle wear or operating pressures. This technology reduces muzzle blast, muzzle flash, and wind drift while increasing the range with match accuracy.
The NTX projectile features a polymer tip with a core assembled from tungsten, copper, tin and iron that fragments with explosive results upon penetration. Combined with a match-grade jacket, this round delivers flat trajectories and maximum accuracy with minimal change in ballistics compared to the Hornady Superformance Varmint ammunition loaded with the V-MAX projectile.
