Frequently Asked Questions
Walther 9mm for sale
Is Walther 9mm a good gun?
Walther 9mm pistols, particularly the PDP line, earn strong reviews for build quality, accuracy, and reliability. Performance varies by model, but Walther is generally well-regarded among both new and experienced shooters.
What is the best Walther 9mm?
"Best" depends on your needs. The PDP earns consistent praise for its trigger and ergonomics. For concealed carry, the PPS M2 is a strong option. Note the iconic PPK is chambered in .380 ACP, not 9mm. Compare specs and prices across retailers to find your fit.
What are the different models of Walther 9mm?
Walther's 9mm lineup includes the PDP (Standard, Pro, Pro-X, Pro-E, Pro SD, Professional ACRO, Match, and Steel Frame variants), PPQ M2, Q5 Match Steel Frame, CCP, and PPS M2. These models span full-size duty, compact carry, and competition categories, with prices typically ranging from $400 to $1,800 depending on the variant.
Does Walther make a compact 9mm?
Yes. Walther makes several compact 9mm pistols, including the PDP Compact line with 4" or 4.6" barrels in Standard, Pro-E, Pro SD, and Pro-X variants. Prices typically range from $400 to $1,800, with a median around $649.
What is the best Walther for concealed carry?
Best choice depends on your priorities. The PDP Compact offers modern ergonomics and higher capacity. The PPK is smaller with a classic design. The PPS M2 balances concealability with shootability. Our marketplace carries 154 Walther variants from 44 retailers, typically $400–$1,800. Handle several to find your fit.
Is the Walther PDP a good pistol?
The Walther PDP is well-regarded for its ergonomics, crisp trigger, and modular design. It holds 18 rounds and suits shooters wanting a full-size striker-fired pistol. Handling one before buying is recommended.
Is the Walther PPX 9mm a good gun?
The PPX offers a decent trigger and comfortable ergonomics at a budget price point around $350-400 used. Reviews praise it as reliable enough for duty use. It lacks the refinement of Walther's PPQ or PDP and has been discontinued, but better options exist at similar prices today.
What are the common problems with the Walther PDP?
Most PDP owners report reliable performance. Occasional issues include feeding problems with certain ammunition, inconsistent trigger reset, and optics mounting compatibility quirks. These aren't widespread complaints. The pistol generally earns strong reliability marks across thousands of examples, with most problems resolving through ammunition selection or minor adjustments.
Do they make a Walther PPK in 9mm?
No. Walther produced PPK models in .380 ACP and .32 ACP only. A few 9mm Luger prototypes allegedly exist, but Walther never manufactured a production 9mm PPK.
Is the Walther CCP 9mm a good gun?
"Good" depends on your needs. Reviewers praise its ergonomics, easy slide operation, and reliable concealed-carry design. Some report mixed performance. The CCP M2 is available in both 9mm and .380 ACP, giving you caliber options. At around $649, handle one first, since fit and feel matter most for carry guns.
What are common problems with the CCP 9mm?
Walther issued a product recall for the CCP 9mm due to reports that the pistol could fire accidentally under certain circumstances. Owners should check recall status before use. Additional common complaints include failure to feed and the slide failing to lock back after the last round is ejected.
What is the best ammo for a Walther CCP 9mm?
Best ammo depends on your use case. For practice, standard 115-grain FMJ rounds from Remington or Winchester work well. For carry, Hornady 124-grain XTP and Fiocchi 124-grain hollow points deliver reliable expansion. Test several brands in your pistol first—some CCPs show feeding preferences.
Is a Walther PPS a good gun?
Whether the PPS fits your needs depends on priorities. Reviewers consistently praise reliability, accuracy, and concealability in a thin single-stack frame. Early models had ergonomic quirks; the M2 refined controls for US shooters. Median price around $649. Handle one first—thin grip and lack of manual safety aren't for everyone.
Is the Walther PPS discontinued?
No. Walther suspended production of the PPK, PPK/S, and PP legacy lines, but the PPS remains in production. The PPS M1 and M2 models are actively available across numerous retailers, typically priced around $649.
