What customers like
Reliability & Accuracy42%
I have used a PPK for CCW over 20 years. It has been absolutely reliable, never had a stovepipe or ftf.
Compact & Concealable38%
The Walther PPK is the perfect firearm for concealed carry. It's sleek but has some heft it still.
Iconic Design & Style28%
I love my iconic pistol made famous by James Bond movies. The black version was used in the film You Only Live Twice.
Easy Slide & Low Recoil25%
The feature most mentioned regarding this gun that sold me, was the ease of the slide for anyone with little or loss of hand strength.
Good Customer Service16%
Excellent service from Guns.com. I have been able to fire 30 rounds with it in the short time I have possessed it.
Common concerns
Jamming & Feed Issues9%
This gun jams every time I fire it. It has a severe extraction issue. I am not happy with my purchase at all
Ammunition Sensitivity5%
Great weapon but be sure to try various ammo to see if it works well with this weapon. The firing pin would light strike but not fire.
Magazine Availability5%
Great gun happy to have it. However I'm having a hell of a time finding magazines for it no one has them
Quality Control Issues4%
The rear site is loose so I can't fire it accurately. I contacted Walther and they responded quickly and will send a new rear site.
Frequently Asked Questions
Walther .380 for sale
What are the common problems with a Walther 380?
Walther PK380 owners reported feeding and ejection issues, extractor problems, and failure to return to battery. A 2012 safety recall addressed a defect where the manual safety could fail to prevent firing. Quality control was inconsistent across production batches.
Is the Walther PPK S 380 a good gun?
The Walther PPK/S .380 is reliable, accurate, and well-built for concealed carry, with newer models featuring improved triggers. Its compact size and low recoil are advantages. Some users find the frame edges sharp. Prices range from $343–$1,029. The Bersa Thunder .380 offers similar performance at lower cost.
Does Walther still make the PPK 380?
Walther has announced a formal multi-year production pause for the PPK, PPK/S, and PP lines, so these pistols are no longer currently manufactured. You may still find existing inventory at dealers, typically priced between $700–$800, but new production units are not being made at this time.
What are common problems with the Walther PPK?
Failure to feed is the most common issue, especially early in the magazine. Jamming can occur with poor-quality ammunition or infrequent cleaning. The slide-bite problem affects some shooters due to the pistol's design. Regular cleaning and quality factory ammunition resolve most reliability concerns.
What are the different models of the Walther PPK 380?
Walther offers the PPK and PPK/S in .380 ACP, available in stainless or black finishes. The PPK/S holds 8 rounds versus the PPK's 6. An SD suppressor-ready variant exists. Both models also come chambered in .32 ACP and .22 LR.
How much is a Walther CCP M2 380?
Walther CCP M2 .380 pistols have a suggested retail of $469, but average new prices run closer to $300, with many listings in the $370–$474 range. Used examples sell for less. Check GunBroker and Guns.com for current pricing.
What are common Walther CCP problems?
Reported issues include occasional failures to feed, particularly with bulk ammunition. Rare catastrophic failures involving slide separation have been documented. Most owners report reliable performance with quality ammunition and proper maintenance. High-round-count rental guns show higher malfunction rates.
What is the difference between Walther CCP and CCP M2?
The CCP M2 features tool-less takedown, eliminating the need for a disassembly tool required on the original CCP. The M2+ further adds Glock-compatible sights. Both pistols share the same gas-delayed blowback operation, compact frame, and ergonomics.
Is the Walther PD 380 a good gun?
The Walther PD380 is generally well-regarded for reliability, minimal recoil, and easy slide operation, making it suitable for concealed carry. It offers solid accuracy and a smooth DA/SA trigger as a hammer-fired compact carry pistol, though the heavy double-action pull can be challenging for shooters with reduced grip strength.
How many rounds does a Walther PD380 hold?
The Walther PD380 holds 9 rounds in its single-stack magazine, plus one in the chamber for a total of 10 rounds.
How does the PD380 compare to other .380 pistols?
Walther's PD380 sits in the compact .380 market at around $682, offering DA/SA operation and 8-round capacity. It competes closely with similar-sized alternatives on dimensions and ballistics, but stands out through refined ergonomics, manageable recoil, and Walther's established manufacturing quality.
Is the Walther PK380 discontinued?
Walther replaced the PK380 with the PD380, so production of the PK380 has ended. However, existing inventory remains available through various retailers, so you can still find one for purchase while supplies last.
Is the Walther PPK 380 reliable?
The Walther PPK in .380 is generally reliable with proper maintenance and quality ammunition. Some owners report occasional feeding issues with certain hollow-point loads. Overall, it has a strong track record as a concealed carry pistol, though regular cleaning is essential given its tight tolerances.
