Frequently Asked Questions
Taurus Raging Hunter for sale
Is Taurus Raging Hunter a good gun?
Raging Hunter revolvers earn solid marks for hunting and defense. Reviewers praise accuracy, manageable recoil from barrel ports, integrated optics rail, and strong ergonomics. Taurus priced these competitively against premium competitors. Available in calibers including .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, and .460 S&W, typically around $1,000.
How much is the Taurus raging hunter?
Taurus Raging Hunter revolvers typically cost around $863 based on current marketplace listings. Most variants range from $714 to $1,031 depending on caliber and barrel length. MSRP sits between $751 and $819.
What are some common problems with the raging hunter?
Reported issues include inconsistent accuracy, stiff triggers, and cylinder binding. Recoil can be difficult to manage with larger magnum loads. Taurus quality control varies between individual units, so some owners report excellent reliability while others experience significant problems.
When was the Taurus Raging Hunter made?
Taurus introduced the Raging Hunter in 2019, earning the Hunting Handgun of the Year Golden Bullseye Award that year. It featured an integrated optics rail and porting system, built on the earlier Raging Bull platform but redesigned specifically for hunting use.
How many rounds does a Taurus raging hunter hold?
The Taurus Raging Hunter holds 5 rounds in most calibers (.44 Magnum, .454 Casull, .460 S&W, .500 S&W), but the .357 Magnum version holds 7 rounds. It is a single/double action revolver available with barrel lengths ranging from 5.12 to 14 inches.
Does a 44 Magnum kick hard?
Yes, .44 Magnum produces significant recoil—roughly 18.5 foot-pounds with factory ammunition, substantially more than .357 Magnum at around 11.5 foot-pounds. Heavier guns, longer barrels, and rubber grips help manage it. Some shooters find it tolerable; others find it punishing.
