Frequently Asked Questions
Springfield 1911 Loaded Stainless for sale
Is the Springfield 1911 loaded a good gun?
The Springfield 1911 Loaded is a reliable pistol for range use and home defense. It is made in Brazil and uses many MIM parts, and reviews note the fit and finish, while serviceable, falls short of competitors at the price point. Most owners still report solid long-term satisfaction.
How much is a 1911 pistol from Springfield?
Springfield 1911 pistols typically cost around $958 on our marketplace, but prices vary widely by model, finish, and caliber. Some premium variants like the 1911-A1 TRP reach $1,709.99 or more, so the range spans from the mid-$800s to well above $1,700.
What 1911 did Chris Kyle use?
Chris Kyle carried a Springfield Armory TRP Operator in .45 ACP during his service. Springfield later honored him with the limited-edition Chris Kyle Legend Series TRP, produced as a run of 1,000 pistols. Specific feature details of that commemorative model are not confirmed.
Why do 1911s jam so much?
1911s don't inherently jam more than other pistols. Common causes include worn or cheap magazines, limp-wristing, dirty internals, and damaged extractors. Modern hollow-point ammunition can cause feeding issues in guns designed for hardball ammo. Build quality varies significantly between manufacturers.
What is the difference between a 1911 and 1911a1?
Original 1911s had a flat mainspring housing, longer trigger, shorter grip safety spur, and thinner front sight. The 1911A1 introduced an arched mainspring housing, shorter trigger, extended grip safety spur, thicker front sight, and relief cuts behind the trigger guard for better grip.
