Frequently Asked Questions
Sig Sauer P229 Legion Sao for sale
Is the SIG P229 Legion a good gun?
Good is subjective, but the P229 Legion earns strong marks for ergonomics, reliability, and build quality. Its compact frame suits concealed carry while the 15-round capacity rivals larger pistols. Expect a break-in period of 300–400 rounds. Typically around $1,300, with most listings $1,241–$1,600. Currently in production across nine variants.
What does sao mean SIG SAUER?
SAO stands for single-action-only. The trigger can only fire the pistol after the hammer has been manually cocked. Unlike DA/SA pistols, SAO models require cocking before each shot. SIG offers SAO versions in their Legion series, favored for their crisp, consistent triggers in competition shooting.
What is the difference between the P229 and the P229 Legion?
Legion models feature a refined double-action trigger with reduced stacking and a contoured beavertail for a higher grip. Standard P229s have a traditional DA/SA trigger. Both share the compact frame and 15-round capacity, but the Legion adds ergonomic and trigger improvements aimed at competitive or serious shooters.
Is the SIG P229 Legion a carry gun?
Yes. The P229 Legion is a compact pistol suited for concealed carry, duty, and defense. Its 3.9-inch barrel and aluminum frame keep it manageable for daily carry, while the 15-round capacity, DA/SA action, and G10 grips provide control without sacrificing concealability.
