What customers like
Reliability & Performance58%
Zero malfunctions and shoots really well. I'm constantly hitting a 8 inch steel plate at 50 yards.

Able to shoot it more accurately than my glocks, learning curve/point of aim and impact minimized by proper grip angle.

I like that the safety is on both sides so I can access it with either hand.
Military Heritage28%
Nice replica of the USMC and USAF standard pistol. It will go into my US military collection.
Modularity & Customization16%
High quality and unmatched modularity. It's great owning a piece of history that has past the riggers of the US Marine Corp.

Just picked up my M18 today 24FEB2021, and the barrel looks like it has been shot well over 1000rds.
Break-In Period3%
Great gun but their might be a break in period for ejection issues.
Frequently Asked Questions
Sig Sauer M18 for sale
Is the SIG Sauer M18 a good gun?
"Good" depends on your needs. The M18 is the U.S. military's standard compact sidearm, which speaks to its reliability. Civilian reviewers consistently report solid accuracy and durability. It's a 9mm with a manual safety, typically priced around $650.
What are the common issues with the M18?
Early production M18s had isolated issues with the safety lever, striker assembly, and sear. The Air Force identified and corrected these discrepancies in current production models. When inspecting used examples, check internal safety components for wear.
How much is the SIG M18 worth?
SIG M18 pistols typically sell around $545–$573 new and $394–$428 used, with most listings ranging from $400 to $500 depending on model and condition. Eleven variants are available across 28 retailers, with ten currently in stock.
How many bullets are in a M18?
The M18 ships with one 17-round magazine and two 21-round magazines. The standard capacity is 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition, though the included 21-round magazines extend that capacity when needed.
Which is better, the SIG M17 or M18?
Better depends on your needs. The M17 has a full-size frame, longer barrel, and slightly better recoil control. The M18 is a compact version of the same pistol, easier to conceal and carry. Both fire 9mm and share controls. Choose M17 for range or home defense, M18 for carry.
What is the difference between Sig P320 and M18?
The M18 is a compact military variant of the P320 with a 3.9-inch barrel, smaller grip frame, and 17-round capacity. M18s include a manual safety, optics cut, and three magazines as standard. The civilian P320 Carry matches M18 dimensions but lacks these military-specified features by default.
What SIG SAUER gun is best for everyday carry?
Best choice depends on your priorities. The P365 series excels at concealed carry due to its small size and variants like the P365-XL and P365-380 offer options for different needs. The M18 is a full-size military service pistol, making it less practical for everyday carry. Test P365 variants if possible.
