Frequently Asked Questions
Sig Sauer 22 pistol for sale
Is the SIG SAUER P322 a good gun?
The P322 is a solid rimfire pistol for training and plinking, priced around $430. It offers good accuracy and realistic controls. Early models had reliability issues, but recent production has improved. Not suitable for defensive use. Read current owner reviews before buying.
How many rounds does the SIG P322 hold?
The SIG P322 holds 20 rounds of .22 LR in its magazine, giving a total capacity of 21 rounds with one chambered.
What are the common issues with the SIG P322?
Common issues include magazine feeding problems, especially when fully loaded—some owners download to 16-17 rounds. Light strikes and slide lock failures occur with certain ammo velocities; Sig offers different recoil springs to address this. Plastic rear sights have rough adjustment. Most problems resolve with ammo selection or magazine tweaks.
How much is a used SIG Sauer P322?
Used SIG Sauer P322 pistols typically sell for around $300–$400, with an average near $353. New models retail for approximately $470 or higher. Prices vary by condition and seller, so check local gun shops, online listings, or certified used inventory for current pricing.
Does the SIG Sauer P322 have a threaded barrel?
Yes, the SIG P322 comes with a threaded barrel. The 4-inch steel barrel is threaded and includes an adapter, making it suppressor-ready out of the box.
Is SIG Sauer P322 legal in California?
Yes, SIG Sauer offers a California-compliant P322 that meets state safety requirements. It comes with a 10-round magazine instead of the standard 20-round. Check local dealers for availability, as stock varies by retailer.
What holster is compatible with Sig P322?
Several manufacturers make P322-compatible holsters, including Vedder LightTuck hybrid IWB and various Kydex OWB options. Rounded by Concealment Express and Tulster also offer P322-specific models. Universal holsters sized for compact pistols may fit, but verify retention before purchasing.
Does Sig Sauer make a 22 mag pistol?
SIG Sauer does not currently make a .22 Magnum pistol. They do offer the P322, chambered in .22 LR, a semi-auto pistol with a 20-round capacity, ambidextrous controls, and an optics-ready slide, priced around $430.
Are SIG Sauer mags interchangeable?
SIG Sauer magazines vary by platform and are generally not interchangeable across different models. P320 mags won't fit a P226 or P229. Within the same platform, higher-capacity mags may fit shorter frames. Always verify compatibility with your specific model before purchasing.
Can you dry fire a SIG P322?
SIG markets the P322 as safe for unlimited dry firing without damage. However, the SIG manual warns that failure to use the chamber safety flag while dry firing can lead to unnecessary wear. Some users report firing pin issues after moderate dry firing, so using the safety flag is recommended.
