Frequently Asked Questions
HK 45 for sale
Is the HK45 a good gun?
"Good" depends on your needs. The HK45 is praised for accuracy, reliability, and ergonomics in .45 ACP. Its full-size frame suits home defense and range use better than concealed carry. Priced around $849, it's widely available. Handle one before buying to confirm fit.
How much is a used HK45C worth?
Used HK45C pistols typically sell for $250–$600 depending on condition. Excellent examples fetch $550–$600, Very Good $500–$550, Good $375–$500, and Fair $250–$375. Recent marketplace data shows most used examples falling in the $656–$680 range. Check GunBroker, local gun shops, or classified listings for current pricing in your area.
What is the difference between HK45 and 45c?
HK45 is full-size; HK45C is compact. Both fire .45 ACP with 10-round capacity and identical internals. The HK45 has a larger grip with aggressive texturing and palm swells. The HK45C has a thinner, smoother grip, making it easier to conceal but requiring more technique to manage recoil.
What are the common problems with the HK45C?
User reports mention grip fit issues for larger hands, slide lock lever problems, hammer following the slide, and magazine follower issues. Most problems stem from mechanical components rather than pure ergonomics. Proper technique and part inspection typically resolve many concerns. Overall reliability remains solid across thousands of rounds.
Where is the HK 45C made?
The HK45C was originally made in Germany. Current production occurs at Heckler & Koch's facility in Columbus, Georgia, USA. Check your pistol's frame markings to determine which country it was manufactured in.
How many rounds does an HK45C hold?
The HK45C holds 8 rounds of .45 ACP in its standard magazine. It can also accept 10-round magazines for additional capacity.
What is the difference between HK45 and HK45 tactical?
HK45 Tactical adds a threaded barrel for suppressor mounting, adjustable Truglo high-profile sights, and front cocking serrations compared to the standard HK45. Both share the same frame, grip ergonomics, and trigger components. Choose the Tactical if you plan to run a suppressor or want those additional features.
