Frequently Asked Questions
Glock 45 Gen 5 for sale
Is there a Gen 5 Glock 45?
Yes. The Glock 45 is a Gen 5 pistol chambered in 9mm. It pairs a compact slide with a full-size frame, holds 17 rounds standard, and retails around $620. It remains in current production.
What is the best ammo for a Glock 45 9mm?
Best ammo depends on your use. For self-defense, Federal HST or Speer Gold Dot offer reliable expansion. For training, standard 115 or 147-grain FMJ rounds work well. Test different loads in your Glock 45 to confirm reliable feeding and accuracy, since individual guns can vary.
What are the common problems with the Glock 45 Gen 5?
Most Glock 45 Gen 5 owners report occasional feeding and ejection issues. Some experience brass deflection during ejection. High grip position near the magazine well can cause malfunctions. These problems are relatively uncommon, as the pistol is generally considered reliable for duty and carry use.
What is the price of Glock G45 pistol?
The Glock G45 has an MSRP of around $647. Street prices vary by retailer, with current listings ranging from roughly $570 to $700 and an average new price near $759. A newer G45 Gen6 model is also now available. Prices vary by retailer, location, and included accessories.
Is there a Glock 45 Gen 5 Mos?
Yes. Glock manufactures the G45 Gen5 MOS, which features a compact slide on a full-size frame with an optics-ready cut. It is widely available through major firearms retailers, typically priced between $530 and $650.
Is the Glock 45 Gen 5 being discontinued?
Glock is discontinuing a large portion of Gen 4 and Gen 5 models after November 30, 2025, as part of a transition to a new V Series. The Glock 45 Gen 5 appears on discontinued lists.
Can you put a threaded barrel on a Glock 45?
Yes, threaded barrels fit the Glock 45. True Precision offers drop-in options compatible with Gen 1-5 models, with thread pitch options including 1/2-28 and 13.5x1mm LH. Installation requires minimal fitting and is straightforward for an experienced shooter.
Is the Glock 45 Gen 5 good for concealed carry?
The Glock 45 Gen 5 works for concealed carry but isn't ideal. Its full-size grip is bulkier than compact models, causing more printing. With a quality IWB holster and appropriate clothing, larger-framed carriers manage it well. The Glock 19 conceals more easily for most people.
Will a Glock 45 fit into a Glock 19 holster?
Yes. The Glock 45 and Glock 19 share the same slide length, so most Glock 19 holsters will fit the Glock 45. The Glock 45 has a longer grip, but since holsters retain the slide and trigger guard, the extra grip length typically does not affect fit.
What magazines fit the Glock 45 Gen 5?
Glock 17 and Glock 19 magazines fit the Glock 45 Gen 5. Factory Gen 5 magazines have orange followers. Third-party options like Magpul PMAG GL9 and ETS Gen 2 are compatible. All Glock 9mm double-stack magazines interchange across generations.
Can you put a red dot on a Glock 45 gen 5?
Yes, but only the Glock 45 MOS variant comes pre-milled for red dot mounting. Standard Glock 45 Gen 5 slides can use mounting plate adapters for a straightforward installation without milling. Compatible optics include the Trijicon RMR, Holosun HS507K, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro.
Which Glock 45 is best?
"Best" depends on your needs. The Glock 45 Gen 5 suits duty use, concealed carry, and self-defense. Choose the MOS variant if you want an optics-ready slide. Prices typically run around $620, available across multiple retailers.
