Frequently Asked Questions
Glock 44 for sale
Is the Glock 44 discontinued?
Yes, the Glock 44 appears to be discontinued. Glock announced plans to discontinue a large portion of its pistol lineup after November 30, 2025. The Glock 44 is not among the models confirmed to remain in production, unlike the G43, G43X, and G48.
Can a Glock 44 shoot 22LR?
Yes, the Glock 44 is chambered in .22 LR and shoots that caliber exclusively. It's a rimfire pistol holding 10 rounds, designed for training and range use. The G44 closely mimics the size and feel of a Glock 19 but produces minimal recoil.
What generation is a Glock 44 22LR?
The Glock 44 is a Generation 5 pistol. It lacks generation markings on the slide, which can cause confusion, but Glock officially classifies it as Gen5. It shares the G19 Gen5 frame design and is chambered in .22 LR.
Does the Glock 44 jam?
The Glock 44 is generally reliable, but .22 LR rimfire ammunition can cause occasional failures to feed or eject. Most users report minimal issues over thousands of rounds. Using quality ammunition and loading magazines correctly reduces problems significantly.
What mags fit in a Glock 44?
Glock 44 pistols accept OEM 10-round and 15-round magazines in .22 LR. ProMag makes aftermarket 18-round and 25-round options. These magazines are specific to the G44 and not interchangeable with centerfire Glock models. Quality magazines reduce feeding issues common with rimfire pistols.
Does the Glock 44 have extended magazines?
Yes. Aftermarket extended magazines for the Glock 44 are available from ProMag, offering 18-round and 25-round capacities in .22 LR, compared to the standard 10-round factory magazine.
What ammo is best for Glock 44?
Glock 44 fires .22 LR rimfire ammunition. CCI Mini-Mags are widely praised for reliable feeding and accuracy. Federal Champion and Remington Golden Bullet 40-grain rounds also perform well. Since individual G44s vary in preference, testing different brands helps identify what cycles reliably in your pistol.
Is a Glock 44 worth it?
Worth depends on your needs. The G44 costs around $350–$430 and uses affordable .22 LR ammo, making it excellent for training with minimal recoil. It mirrors standard Glock ergonomics well. Not suited for defense or precision shooting, but as a budget-friendly trainer, it delivers solid value.
How many magazines come with a Glock 44?
The Glock 44 comes standard with two 10-round magazines.
Is Glock 44 the same size as Glock 19?
No, they're nearly identical in size. Both measure 7.28 inches long and 5.04 inches tall. The G44 is slightly narrower at 1.26 inches versus the G19's 1.34 inches. The G44 weighs just 14.64 ounces versus the G19's 23.63 ounces, since it fires .22 LR instead of 9mm.
Can you get a Glock 44 with a threaded barrel?
Yes. Glock offers G44 models with threaded barrels factory-installed. These variants come with a thread protector and accept standard suppressors.
Can you put a suppressor on a Glock 44?
Yes, you can suppress a Glock 44 with a standard rimfire suppressor. The pistol requires a threaded barrel, which Glock sells separately as a kit for around $125. Factory threaded-barrel G44 models are also available. Rimfire suppressors typically have a one-inch diameter and thread directly onto the barrel.
What is the price range of a Glock 44?
Glock 44 pistols average around $386 new and $308 used, with a 12-month average near $391. Prices vary based on barrel configuration and retailer.
Is a Glock 44 a Gen 5?
The Glock 44 has its own model designation but is referred to as Gen5 by Glock and some retailers. It shares the Gen5 frame design, including ambidextrous controls and interchangeable backstraps. Glock's own site treats it separately from core Gen5 models while also grouping it with them in some contexts.
What are the reviews of the Glock 44?
Reviewers praise the Glock 44 as an affordable, reliable .22 LR trainer that handles well and shoots accurately. It weighs 14.6 ounces, making it easy to handle, and suits instructional use well. Some report feeding issues with low-velocity ammo; high-velocity rounds perform better. Overall reception is positive for training purposes.
