Frequently Asked Questions
Glock 45 for sale
What is special about the Glock 45?
The Glock 45 combines a full-size Gen 5 frame (17-round capacity) with a compact slide, creating a crossover design that balances grip ergonomics with a shorter barrel. Chambered in 9mm, it suits duty and concealed carry use and is available in standard and MOS optics-ready configurations.
Is the Glock 45 9mm a good gun?
Whether it's "good" depends on your needs. The Glock 45 earns strong reviews for its balanced ergonomics—full-size grip paired with a compact slide. It's reliable, accurate, and suitable for duty, defense, or range use. Street price runs around $550–$620. Handle one first to confirm it fits your hand.
What is the price range of a Glock 45?
Glock 45 pistols typically cost between $550 and $750 at most retailers, with an average street price around $759 new and $446 used. Prices can range from approximately $500 to $1,400 depending on the variant and seller.
What is the latest Glock 45 model?
The Glock 45 is now available in Gen6. It features enhanced ergonomics, a refined grip texture, and comes optics-ready with 3 optics plates for mounting Trijicon RMR-footprint optics directly into the slide. It retains the full-size frame with compact slide, chambered in 9mm with a 17-round capacity.
What is the best ammo for a Glock 45 9mm?
For defense, Federal Premium HST 147-grain hollow points are a top choice, offering reliable expansion and penetration. Speer Gold Dot 124-grain is another proven option. For range training, Federal American Eagle 115-grain or 147-grain FMJ works well and costs less. Match ammo type to your intended use.
What are the common problems with the Glock 45 Gen 5?
Most G45 Gen 5 issues include occasional feeding or ejection failures, typically caused by weak grip technique or certain ammunition types. Some users report inconsistent brass deflection. Overall, the pistol is considered highly reliable, and serious malfunctions are uncommon.
Does the Glock 45 come in MOS?
Yes. Glock offers the G45 in MOS (Modular Optics System) configuration, which features a pre-cut slide for mounting reflex sights without additional adapters. Pricing typically runs around $620, though this varies by retailer.
Is the Glock 45 better than the 19?
"Better" depends on your needs. The G45 has a full-size grip, improving control for duty or range use. The G19 is more compact, making it easier to conceal. Both fire 9mm reliably. Choose the G45 for duty/range work, the G19 for concealed carry.
