Frequently Asked Questions
Glock 42 for sale
Is a Glock 42 a 9mm or 380?
The Glock 42 is chambered in .380 Auto (ACP), not 9mm. It is a single-stack subcompact pistol designed for concealed carry, holding 6 rounds in the magazine. It remains in current production and retails for approximately $400–$500.
Is the Glock 42 still made?
Yes, Glock still manufactures the G42. The subcompact .380 Auto pistol remains in active production and is widely available through retailers, typically priced around $500. It remains a popular choice for concealed carry.
Is the Glock 42 380 a good pistol?
"Good" depends on your needs. The G42 is a reliable, accurate .380 for concealed carry with manageable recoil and proven Glock durability. Its 6-round capacity and slim profile suit pocket or IWB carry. Retail runs around $500. A solid choice for carry, though limited capacity may deter some.
What are the common problems with the Glock 42 380?
Some users report feeding and ejection issues, particularly with certain hollow-point or low-powered ammunition. Limp-wristing can cause malfunctions due to the single-stack design. Most problems resolve with a proper grip, quality brass-cased ammunition, and a break-in period of 200–300 rounds.
Is there an extended mag for a Glock 42?
Yes. Several aftermarket options exist for the Glock 42. ETS Group makes 9-round and 12-round magazines. Prices typically range $12–$20 for standard extended mags. Factory Glock extensions are also available.
What mags fit in a Glock 42?
Factory Glock 42 magazines hold 6 rounds of .380 ACP. Aftermarket options from ETS and ProMag offer 9 or 12 rounds. Only single-stack .380 ACP magazines designed specifically for the G42 fit reliably; double-stack or 9mm magazines are not compatible.
How much is a Glock 42 magazine?
Glock 42 magazines typically cost $13–$33 for standard 6-round factory or aftermarket options. Extended magazines from ETS Group run $12–$20 for 9 or 12-round variants.
What is the best holster for a Glock 42?
For IWB concealed carry, the Tulster Profile and Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.5 are well-regarded options. For OWB, Safariland makes reliable duty-style holsters. Kydex generally offers better retention and durability than leather. Your carry position, clothing, and daily activity should ultimately determine your choice.
