Frequently Asked Questions
Glock 19 Gen 3 for sale
Can you still buy Glock 19 Gen 3?
Yes, the Glock 19 Gen 3 is still in production and widely available. It can be found at most gun retailers and online distributors, typically priced between $470 and $650, with street prices often around $500–$550.
Are Gen 3 Glocks still good?
Gen 3 Glocks remain reliable and functional for carry and self-defense. They lack some refinements found in newer generations, like improved springs and ejectors, but accuracy and dependability are comparable. Parts and accessories are widely available, making them a practical and cost-effective choice.
What is the Glock 19 Gen 3 frame made of?
The Glock 19 Gen 3 frame is made from a proprietary high-strength polymer blend. This material is lightweight, impact-resistant, and highly durable. It also provides some flexibility, which helps absorb recoil during firing.
Does dry firing damage a Glock?
Glock explicitly states dry firing won't damage their pistols. The striker and firing pin are engineered to handle it safely. However, for frequent dry fire practice, snap caps or a dedicated dry fire training system are worth considering to reduce wear over time.
Is the Glock 19 Gen 3 optic ready?
The standard Gen 3 Glock 19 is not optic ready from the factory. However, Glock produces an OEM MOS-cut slide (part number 79008) for the Gen 3, making it optic ready straight from Glock itself. Aftermarket milled slides and mounting plate adapters are also available options.
What slides are compatible with Glock 19 Gen 3?
Gen 3 Glock 19 OEM slides and aftermarket slides specifically made for Gen 3 frames are compatible. Popular aftermarket options include Agency Arms, Zev Technologies, and Brownells. Most require the Gen 3 recoil spring assembly. Always confirm compatibility with your specific frame before purchasing.
What is the best trigger for Glock 19 Gen 3?
"Best" depends on your use. The Timney Alpha Competition excels for target shooting with a crisp 3.1-pound break. The Overwatch Precision DAT Flat Face Trigger suits carry and duty use. The Johnny Glocks Evolution-X works well for competition. Glock's factory Performance Trigger offers a solid upgrade while retaining the Safe Action System.
How much is the Glock 19 Gen 3 slide complete?
Complete slides for the Glock 19 Gen 3 typically run around $620 based on marketplace data, with most listings between $472 and $903. Aftermarket options from brands like Davidson Defense and Zev Technologies cost $150–$400. Prices vary depending on barrel type, coatings, and optic cuts.
