Benelli delivers the ultimate upland hunting shogun with the Montefeltro Ultra Light. The magazine tube is shortened (but can be extended if needed) and the rib is made from carbon fiber, making the gun exceptionally lightweight for long upland treks.
Just like the other shotguns in the Montefeltro family, the Ultra Light utilizes Benelli's renowned Inertia Driven System. This extremely reliable action is composed of just 3 main parts – the bolt body, inertia spring, and rotating bolt head – and harnesses the inertia of recoil to cycle the next round. This simple, yet robust system eliminates the need to make adjustments, and is able to handle the lightest field loads to heavy magnum shells. The Inertia Driven System prevents residue from entering the action and ensures the gas, smoke, and burnt powder remain in the barrel. This makes the Inertia Driven System run significantly cleaner than gas systems. The lack of springs or gas cylinders under the forend allows the Montefeltro’s forend to be slim and graceful, while the lightweight, anodized aluminum receiver keeps weight to a minimum.
The barrel is treated with Benelli’s Cryo system which helps relieve the stress caused by the hammer forging process, creates a smoother, more uniform surface, and enables the barrel to stay cleaner for longer.
