With a 5-inch barrel featuring Smith & Wesson's new Tempo Barrel System, the new M&P 5.7 gas operated, internal-hammer-fired pistol utilizes the ballistics of the 5.7 x 28mm cartridge to produce a great self-defense pistol that can easily put multiple rounds down range with light recoil. With a 22+1 max capacity and two 22-round mags, you'll never need to worry about running out of ammunition. Features of the S&W M&P 5.7 include precise front serrations, lightning cuts, and a 5" threaded barrel with a thread pattern of 1/2"x28 TPI for mounting the muzzle device or suppressor of your choice. The TEMPO barrel system features an internal rotary barrel and external shroud allowing for the muzzle device mounting. The proprietary gas system ensures the projectile has exited the barrel before the cam opens and ejects the casing. This allows for the smooth cycling of rounds and reduces the risk of malfunction.
