New for 2024, Desert Tech introduces the WLVRN – the 3rd generation of their renowned semiautomatic bullpup rifles. It comes equipped with an all-new integrated receiver which features completely new internals but maintains the same manual-of-arms as pervious Desert Tech models. The new internals need less gas to operate the action to help cut down on felt recoil. The new integrated receiver also eliminates the need for non-critical steel parts by building them directly into the receiver itself, resulting in 49 less parts and a 19% reduction in weight. The barrel is attached to the receiver using the same barrel mounting and clamping mechanism of the SRS and HTI series of precision rifles that increases the upper receiver's stiffness and boosts accuracy by 30%. Accuracy is further enhanced by a highly refined trigger and trigger linkage which offers one of the smoothest and lightest triggers ever found on a bullpup rifle. In addition to enhancing accuracy, the barrel mounting system makes the WLVRN the first bullpup rifle that can be converted between short frame and large frame cartridges on-the-go.
Just like the previous generations, the WLVRN takes full advantage of the bullpup design: WLVRN models with 16-inch barrels are shorter than conventional AR-platforms with 10.5-inch barrels while still maintaining better terminal ballistics. The bullpup design offers optimal mobility and balance than a standard AR-pattern rifle with better weight distribution and less recoil. Additionally, the WLVRN's charging handles, mag release buttons, bolt catch, and safety selectors are ambidextrous.
Features of the WLVRN:
- All-New Integrated Receiver: Feature 49 fewer parts, 19% less weight, & requires less gas to operate
- Same Barrel Mounting & Clamping Mechanism as SRS & HTI Rifles: Increases the upper receiver's stiffness and boosts accuracy by 30%
- Multi-Caliber: First bullpup rifle that can be converted between short frame and large frame cartridges on-the-go
- Bullpup Design: Longer barrel in a shorter package. Optimal mobility and balance
- Ambidextrous Controls
- Same Controls as MDRx rifles
