Frequently Asked Questions
Sig Sauer P320 Max for sale
Is the P320 Max any good?
SIG Sauer built the P320 Max for USPSA Carry Optics competition with input from champion shooter Max Michel. It shoots flat, runs reliably, and is well-regarded among competitors. At around $1,500, it is a dedicated competition pistol, not a duty gun, but delivers strong value for serious competitors.
How much is a Sig P320 Max?
Sig Sauer P320 Max pistols typically cost around $1,599.99, with prices ranging from $1,312.99 to $2,199.99 depending on the variant, retailer, and current promotions.
Is the SIG P320 Max safe?
The SIG P320 Max meets standard industry safety requirements and lacks an external manual safety, relying on a trigger safety system. However, the P320 faces ongoing controversy, with documented claims it can fire without a trigger pull, and multiple law enforcement agencies have reconsidered its use due to reported incidents.
What ammo is best for Sig P320?
For self-defense, quality hollow-points like Speer Gold Dot, Federal HST, or SIG's own V-Crown work well. For range use, any reliable 115-grain or 124-grain FMJ suffices. The P320 is generally not ammunition-sensitive, but test several brands to confirm reliable feeding in your specific pistol.
What are common P320 problems?
P320 owners report trigger issues, failure to feed, and slide racking problems. Some users have reported unintended discharges, leading to lawsuits against SIG Sauer. Several law enforcement agencies have restricted the platform over these concerns. SIG disputes safety claims and has issued voluntary upgrade programs addressing earlier design versions.
