Frequently Asked Questions
Sig Sauer 45 for sale
Does SIG SAUER make a 45 caliber?
Yes. SIG SAUER makes several .45 ACP pistols including the P220, P220 Legion, 1911-X Full, and 1911 Emperor Scorpion. Models range from compact to full-size frames suited for concealed carry and defensive use.
How much is a Sig Sauer P320 45 ACP worth?
SIG Sauer does make the P320 in .45 ACP. The P320 Compact is available in .45 ACP, with a current average new price of $593.63. For other .45 ACP SIG options, the P220 or 1911-X typically range from $900 to $1,300.
Is the SIG SAUER 45 good for concealed carry?
SIG's .45 ACP options vary in concealability. The P220 Carry and Compact work better for EDC than the full-size P220, though both are thicker than modern micro-compacts. The P245 is also a strong choice, considered one of the best-carrying SIG .45 ACP pistols available.
What makes the SIG Sauer 1911-.45 unique?
SIG's 1911 pistols combine classic ergonomics with modern refinements. Variants like the Emperor Scorpion feature fish scale serrations, SIGLITE night sights, and premium finishes. Full-size frames deliver .45 ACP stopping power for defense, typically priced $1,300–$1,700 depending on configuration.
Are Sig Sauer 1911 any good?
Sig Sauer 1911s are generally well-regarded for reliability and fit/finish. Models range from around $1,100 to $1,400 and work well for defensive use. Most shoot reliably out of the box, though some prefer higher-end makers like Wilson Combat for competition. Solid value at their price point.
What is the best compact 45 caliber handgun?
"Best" depends on your priorities. The SIG P220 Legion and Glock 30 are popular choices for concealed carry. Springfield's XD-S Mod.2 offers a slimmer profile. Compare models by capacity, size, and intended use.
Is the Sig Sauer P220 discontinued?
Yes, Sig Sauer discontinued the standard P220 line. However, the P220 Legion remains in production, including a 10mm SAO variant. Used and new-old-stock examples are still widely available through retailers.
Where is the Sig P220 made?
SIG P220s were originally manufactured in West Germany at Sauer & Sohn's facility in Eckernförde. German production continued into the mid-1990s before Exeter, New Hampshire assembly began around 1996, initially using German-made slides and frames. The transition involved mixed-origin components rather than a clean shift. Early West German examples are sought by collectors.
