Frequently Asked Questions
Mossberg Gold Reserve for sale
Is the Mossberg Gold Reserve a good gun?
Reviewers praise the Gold Reserve for smooth handling, reliable function, and good value around $927. It suits sporting clays, hunting, and field use. Available in 12, 20, and .410 gauge with multiple choke tubes, most shooters consider it a strong over/under option under $1,000.
What is the difference between Mossberg gold and silver Reserve?
The Gold Reserve features automatic shell ejectors, five extended competition chokes, and a polished receiver with scroll engraving and jeweling. The Silver Reserve uses extractors instead of ejectors and includes basic chokes, making it a more affordable field gun. Gold models cost more due to their upgraded aesthetics and competition-oriented features.
How much is a Mossberg Gold Reserve 20 gauge?
Mossberg Gold Reserve 20 gauge shotguns typically cost around $927. Most listings fall between $840 and $1,157 depending on barrel length and finish, with eight variants available across multiple retailers.
What chokes does Mossberg Gold Reserve use?
Mossberg Gold Reserve shotguns include five extended choke tubes: Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Cylinder. They are color-coded for quick identification, feature knurled ends for hand removal, and have printed designations on the extended portion.
Does the Mossberg Gold Reserve come with a case?
Mossberg Gold Reserve shotguns ship with a set of five extended choke tubes in a dedicated case. The gun breaks down into three parts for storage. Confirm case inclusion with your retailer, as specific listings may vary.
Does the Mossberg Gold Reserve have ejectors?
Yes, the Mossberg Gold Reserve has ejectors that automatically eject spent shells when the action is opened. Reviewers note they eject with considerable force, which some shooters find useful during fast-paced shooting sports like sporting clays.
