Frequently Asked Questions
HK VP9 for sale
Did HK discontinue the VP9?
No. HK continues producing the VP9 platform, including the VP9 A1 and VP9 Match. However, the original VP9 and VP9SK variants appear to be discontinued, along with the P2000 line.
Is HK VP9 safe to carry?
Yes. The VP9 is safe to carry. It features a striker-fired design with a firing pin safety and a 5–5.5 lb trigger pull. Concerns about its striker block design circulate online, but no documented failures exist. Many users carry VP9 and VP9SK models daily without issue.
What does VP9 stand for?
VP stands for Volkspistole, German for "people's pistol." Heckler & Koch uses this designation for their striker-fired 9mm pistol. The "9" denotes the 9mm chambering.
What holster fits a HK VP9?
Multiple manufacturers make holsters for the VP9, including Alien Gear, C&G Holsters, Safariland, and Blackhawk. Options include IWB, OWB, and appendix carry styles in Kydex or hybrid materials. Confirm your specific variant (standard, SK, or A1) before purchasing, as fitment varies by model.
What mags fit HK VP9?
Factory HK magazines in 10, 12, and 15-round capacities fit all VP9 variants. Third-party options from ProMag and ETS also work. ProMag makes a 32-round extended magazine that fits with an included sleeve. Verify compatibility with your specific VP9 variant before purchasing aftermarket options.
How much is VP9 magazine?
VP9 magazines typically cost $41–$65 for factory HK versions in 10, 15, 17, and 20-round capacities. Third-party options from ProMag run $24–$31. Prices vary by retailer and magazine capacity.
