Frequently Asked Questions
FN 45 for sale
Is the fnx45 any good?
The FNX-45 Tactical is well-regarded for reliability, accuracy, and solid build quality. Its full-size frame, 15-round capacity, and ambidextrous controls suit defensive and tactical use. It includes a threaded barrel for suppressors. Priced around $999, it competes well against similar pistols.
Is the FNX-45 Tactical worth the money?
Value depends on your priorities. Marketplace listings typically run $819–$1,290, with a median around $999. Owners praise reliability, accuracy, and 15-round capacity in .45 ACP. Downsides: limited aftermarket support and expensive replacement parts. Best suited for tactical use or home defense rather than everyday carry.
Which is better Glock 21 or FNX 45?
Neither is objectively better—it depends on priorities. The Glock 21 costs less and has superior aftermarket support. The FNX-45 Tactical variant comes with a threaded barrel, optics cut, and suppressor-height sights; the standard FNX-45 does not. Choose the Glock 21 for affordability and customization.
What are the common problems with the FNX 45?
User reports cite magazine spring issues, slide lock failures after the final round, and occasional ejection problems. Underpowered ammunition worsens reliability. The large grip challenges shooters with smaller hands. New pistols may need a break-in period; most issues resolve with proper maintenance and quality ammunition.
What is the best holster for the FNX 45 tactical?
Holster choice depends on carry method. C&G Holsters and Blade-Tech both offer Kydex options for the FNX-45 Tactical in IWB and OWB configurations. IWB models like the ProTuck or LightTuck run $70–$135; OWB options like the LightDraw cost around $90. Verify your barrel setup (threaded or standard) before ordering.
Is the FNX 45 good for concealed carry?
Full-size frame and double-stack grip make the FNX-45 challenging for everyday concealed carry. Its weight and bulk suit home defense, duty use, or range work better. Shooters prioritizing concealability should consider compact .45 ACP options instead.
What suppressor for FNX-45?
FNX-45 Tactical's threaded barrel uses 5/8x24 threads. Popular choices include the SilencerCo Octane 45, SilencerCo Hybrid 46M, Rugged Obsidian 45, and Banish 45. The Hybrid 46M stands out for its modularity and rifle-rated capability. The pistol ships with suppressor-height sights, clearing most cans without modification.
How many mags does the FNX 45 Tactical come with?
The FNX-45 Tactical comes standard with two 15-round magazines. We carry these on our marketplace if you need additional mags.
What ammo is best for the FNX 45?
For .45 ACP, the FNX-45 handles standard 230-grain rounds well. Federal HST and Speer Gold Dot are proven defensive choices. PMC and Federal ball ammo work for practice. Avoid steel-cased ammunition. Match your round to your intended use—defensive loads for carry, standard pressure rounds for training.
What is the compensator for the FN FNX 45 tactical?
The FNX-45 Tactical does not ship with a factory compensator. It comes with a threaded, suppressor-height barrel. Aftermarket compensators such as the MRAT and Mini Ghost are available as thread-on upgrades compatible with its 5/8×24 threaded barrel.
What is the thread pitch of the FN 45 tactical?
The FNX-45 Tactical barrel is threaded at 0.578×28 TPI, a standard pitch for .45 ACP suppressors and muzzle devices.
How many rounds does the fn fnx 45 hold?
The FNX-45 holds 15 rounds in the magazine, plus one in the chamber for a total of 16. State-compliant versions ship with a 10-round magazine.
