Frequently Asked Questions
Colt Delta Elite 10mm for sale
Is the Colt Delta Elite 10mm any good?
The Colt Delta Elite is a well-regarded 10mm pistol built on the 1911 platform. It's reliable, accurate, and delivers significant power exceeding .357 Magnum in a magazine-fed format. Recommended for experienced shooters due to substantial recoil. Currently in production, retailing around $1,190.
How does the Delta Elite compare to a 1911?
The Delta Elite is a 1911-pattern pistol chambered in 10mm Auto instead of .45 ACP. It uses the same operating system and ergonomics but delivers higher velocity and energy. It holds eight rounds versus seven and produces significantly more recoil than a standard .45 ACP 1911.
What year was the Colt Delta Elite 10mm made?
Colt introduced the Delta Elite in 1987. For the specific production year of a particular gun, Colt's serial number lookup tool can provide that information.
How many rounds does a Colt Delta Elite 10mm hold?
The Colt Delta Elite 10mm holds eight rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber, for a total capacity of nine rounds. This matches the standard 1911 platform on which the Delta Elite is based.
Is the Colt Delta Elite still made?
Yes, Colt currently manufactures the Delta Elite, though only a single variant is confirmed in production, featuring a brushed steel frame and slide, 5-inch National Match barrel, Novak sights, and G10 grips. It chambers 10mm Auto, typically priced around $1,100–$1,200, and sells out quickly when available.
