Frequently Asked Questions
Colt Anaconda for sale
What is the price of the Colt Anaconda 6 inch?
Colt Anaconda 6-inch revolvers carry an MSRP of $1,699.00 per Colt's website, with retail listings typically ranging from $1,495.99 to $1,584.99. Our marketplace currently shows listings from $1,124 to $1,988 depending on the specific variant.
Is the Colt Anaconda 6 inch accurate?
Yes, the 6-inch Anaconda is generally considered accurate. At 25 yards, reviewers praise it as super-accurate with some of the best iron-sighted results tested. Its adjustable rear sight, full-lug barrel, and longer sight radius all contribute to precision, making it suitable for target shooting and hunting.
What calibers does the Colt Anaconda come in?
The Colt Anaconda is available in .44 Magnum and .45 Colt, offered in barrel lengths of 4.25, 6, and 8 inches.
Is Colt Anaconda worth the money?
Value depends on your needs. Anacondas typically cost $1,124–$1,988, with strong reviews praising reliability and accuracy. If you want a premium .44 Magnum or .45 Colt revolver for hunting or target shooting, most owners find the quality justifies the price. Budget shooters may want to explore alternatives.
Is the 8 inch Colt Anaconda better than the 6?
Neither is objectively "better"—it depends on your use. The 8-inch barrel delivers higher velocity and better long-range accuracy, suiting hunting and target shooting. The 6-inch balances more naturally and handles easier for most shooters. The 8-inch feels noticeably nose-heavy. Choose based on intended use and personal preference.
What are the disadvantages of Anaconda?
Anaconda revolvers are heavy and produce significant recoil in .44 Magnum, causing fatigue during extended shooting. The 8-inch barrel creates a nose-heavy balance. Capacity is limited to six rounds. Pricing runs $1,124–$1,988, above many competitors. Unsuitable for concealed carry or recoil-sensitive shooters.
Do Colt Python grips fit Anaconda?
Yes. Modern Python and Anaconda revolvers share the same grip frame since their 2021 reintroduction, so Python grips fit the Anaconda directly. Ensure the locating pin is present for proper seating. Aftermarket makers like Altamont and Badger Custom also produce grips compatible with both models.
What is the difference between Colt Python 357 and anaconda?
Python chambers .357 Magnum in a medium frame suited for defense and target shooting. Anaconda fires .44 Magnum or .45 Colt from a larger, heavier frame designed for hunting. Both were reintroduced in 2020-2021 with updated manufacturing, but Anaconda handles significantly more recoil.
