Frequently Asked Questions
Beretta 3032 Tomcat for sale
Is the Beretta 3032 Tomcat any good?
Opinions vary. The Tomcat suits deep concealment and benefits shooters with dexterity issues due to its tip-up barrel, which allows loading without racking the slide. Downsides include snappy recoil from its lightweight blowback design and .32 ACP's modest stopping power. Most find it reliable for its intended role.
What are common Beretta 3032 Tomcat problems?
Reported issues include slide cracks, feeding problems tied to magazine condition or ammo sensitivity, and trigger inconsistency. Ammunition quality matters—reliability often improves with premium rounds. Magazine feed lips and a proper break-in period also influence performance. Most problems trace back to magazines rather than the pistol itself.
How much is a Beretta 3032?
Beretta 3032 Tomcat pistols typically cost around $562, with most listings ranging from $360 to $614. Seven variants from thirty retailers are currently in stock. The gun remains in active production, with new inventory available and newer 30X Tomcat variants also on the market. Used examples may cost less than new.
Is the Beretta 3032 Tomcat safe to carry?
The 3032 lacks a firing pin block, so carry it with the hammer down, not cocked-and-locked. Used this way, it's safe to carry. Note that the frame can crack under sustained use, and it feeds more reliably with quality ammunition.
What ammo is best for Beretta Tomcat?
For the Tomcat's .32 ACP, Fiocchi 73-grain FMJ offers reliable penetration. Hornady Custom 60-grain XTP and Federal Hydra-Shok 65-grain JHP provide expansion for defensive use. Test several brands first—the Tomcat can be picky about reliable feeding.
How much does a Beretta 3032 Tomcat weight?
Beretta's 3032 Tomcat weighs 14.5 ounces unloaded.
Is the Beretta 3032 Tomcat being discontinued?
Yes, Beretta discontinued the 3032 Tomcat in 2023, replacing it with the updated 30X model. The 30X features an 8-round magazine, improved trigger, stronger frame, and better sights. Used Tomcats remain available through retailers, typically around $562.
When was the Beretta 3032 Tomcat made?
Beretta introduced the 3032 Tomcat in 1996 as a subcompact .32 ACP pocket pistol. Production continued until 2023, when Beretta replaced it with the 30X model. The original Tomcat remains available used on the secondary market.
How much is a Beretta Tomcat covert?
Beretta Tomcat Covert models typically run around $562 on our marketplace, with most listings between $360–$614. Seven variants are currently in stock across 30 retailers. Prices vary by condition and specific configuration. This .32 ACP pocket pistol is currently in production and available new directly from Beretta.
What is the difference between a 3032 Tomcat and a 30X Tomcat?
The 30X is Beretta's 2023 successor to the 3032. It's larger (4.6" vs 3.7" tall, 1.36" vs 1.1" wide), features an aluminum frame with carbon steel slide for twice the durability, and maintains the signature tip-up barrel. Both fire .32 ACP and hold 7 rounds, but the 30X offers improved ergonomics and construction.
What does Beretta Inox mean?
Inox is Beretta's designation for stainless steel construction. The slide and frame are made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel rather than blued carbon steel, giving the pistol a silvery appearance and greater resistance to rust, which makes these models popular for carry in humid or harsh environments.
