The CMMG Banshee MKGS operates on a radial delayed blowback system, ensuring smooth and reliable cycling with reduced recoil. The 5" barrel, with a 1:16 twist rate, is crafted from 4140CM steel and finished with Salt Bath Nitride (SBN) for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. The barrel is equipped with a CMMG ZEROED Linear Compensator and threaded with a 0.578x28 pattern, providing effective recoil management and compatibility with various muzzle devices.

The upper receiver is machined from billet 6061 T6 aluminum, and the lower receiver is forged from 7075 T6 aluminum, both finished in Cerakote Standard for superior protection and aesthetics.
