Frequently Asked Questions
Sig Sauer Romeo 1 for sale
What is the difference between Romeo1 and Romeo1 Pro?
Romeo1 Pro upgrades the original with a Leupold Deltapoint Pro-compatible mounting footprint, 20,000-hour battery life, a protective shroud, brighter dot with 12 brightness steps, and more robust construction. The original Romeo1 uses a proprietary footprint and lacks the shroud.
Is the SIG Romeo 1 motion activated?
Yes, the standard SIG SAUER Romeo 1 features MOTAC (Motion Activated Illumination System), which powers the sight on when motion is detected and shuts it off when stationary, extending battery life without requiring manual activation.
Does the Romeo 1 Pro have an auto shutoff?
Yes, the Romeo 1 Pro has MOTAC (Motion Activated Illumination) auto-shutoff. It powers down after detecting no movement for roughly two minutes and wakes when motion resumes. You can also manually power it off by holding the UP or DOWN button for two seconds.
What guns does the Romeo 1 Pro fit?
The Romeo 1 Pro fits SIG SAUER pistols with the PRO RX footprint and many pistols using the DeltaPoint Pro footprint. However, SIG warns it will not fit all DeltaPoint Pro footprints due to variances in recoil boss dimensions. Verify compatibility before purchase.
What footprint does the SIG Romeo 1 use?
The SIG Romeo 1 uses its own proprietary footprint that shares hole and pin patterns with the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro and Shield RMS/SMS. However, recoil boss dimension differences mean it may not fit all DeltaPoint Pro cuts, so verify compatibility with your specific pistol before purchasing.
What battery does the SIG Romeo 1 Pro take?
The SIG Romeo 1 Pro uses a CR1632 battery. Its top-loading design allows replacement without removing the sight from your firearm. Battery life extends several months with MOTAC (motion-activated illumination control) enabled.
What is the battery life of the SIG Romeo 1 Pro?
The SIG Romeo 1 Pro offers approximately 20,000 hours of battery life on a single CR1632 battery. With MOTAC (motion-activated illumination) enabled, real-world runtime extends several months. Actual duration varies by brightness setting and usage frequency.
Is the Romeo 1 Pro waterproof?
Yes, the Romeo 1 Pro carries an IPX-7 rating, meaning it withstands submersion up to one meter for 30 minutes. It is also fogproof and features a protective steel shroud, making it reliable in rain and wet conditions.
Does the Romeo 1 Pro have Shake Awake?
Yes, the Romeo 1 Pro includes Shake Awake. The optic automatically wakes when it detects motion and returns to sleep when still, conserving battery life. This works alongside its 50,000-hour battery life, letting you leave the optic on without worrying about manual shutoff.
What battery does the SIG Romeo 1 take?
The SIG Romeo 1 uses a CR1632 battery. It's a 3-volt lithium cell that loads from the top, allowing replacement without removing the sight from your firearm. Battery life runs roughly 50,000 hours with the MOTAC motion-sensing feature enabled.
Is the SIG Romeo 1 Pro good?
The Romeo 1 Pro is well-regarded for its crisp dot, MOTAC auto-shutoff, and durability in defensive and competition use. It delivers professional-grade performance at a reasonable, accessible price point for a pistol red dot. Most shooters consider it a solid choice that punches above its cost.
Which Sig Romeo is best?
"Best" depends on your use. The Romeo 5 offers the best value for most shooters. The Romeo 1 Pro suits defensive pistols and competition. The Romeo 4 series works well on AR platforms with solar backup. Match the optic to your firearm type and budget.
