Frequently Asked Questions
Sig Sauer M17 Pistol for sale
Is the SIG M17 a good pistol?
The SIG M17 is a reliable, accurate 9mm pistol adopted by the U.S. military as its standard sidearm. It performs well for duty and home defense. Its full-size frame makes concealed carry challenging. Prices typically run around $650, with several variants available.
How many rounds does the M17 pistol hold?
The SIG Sauer P320-M17 holds 17 rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber, for a total of 17+1, chambered in 9mm. It also accepts 21-round magazines. Check our marketplace listings for current magazine availability and bundle details.
What is the price of a Sig M17?
SIG Sauer M17 pistols typically cost around $649.99 on our marketplace. Most listings fall between $550 and $897, depending on condition and retailer. MSRP is generally in line with typical street prices for this pistol.
What are the common problems with M17?
Early versions had reported drop-safe concerns related to the firing pin block, with some users claiming unintended discharges without trigger manipulation. SIG Sauer issued an upgrade program addressing these issues. Later production models are generally considered reliable. Contact SIG Sauer with your serial number to confirm whether your pistol received the upgrade.
What ammo is best for SIG SAUER M17?
SIG Sauer offers purpose-built M17 ammunition in 115-, 124-, and 147-grain configurations: V-Crown hollowpoint for defense and FMJ for training. Both load to +P velocities per military specs. Standard 9mm duty ammunition from reputable manufacturers such as Federal, Speer, and Winchester also functions reliably in the M17.
Can civilians buy SIG Sauer M17?
Yes, civilians can buy the SIG Sauer P320-M17, the civilian version of the U.S. military service pistol. It is a 9mm striker-fired full-size pistol available through licensed firearms dealers, typically priced between $550 and $900.
What is the price of SIG Sauer air gun?
SIG Sauer air guns typically range from around $149.99 for basic pistols to $340 for air rifles, depending on the model. For exact current pricing, check retailers like Academy Sports, Cabela's, or the SIG Sauer website.
Is the SIG Sauer P320-M17 CO2 powered air pistol?
No. The firearm P320-M17 is a real 9mm striker-fired pistol. However, SIG Sauer does make a separate CO2-powered air pistol replica also called the P320 M17, which fires pellets at 430 fps. These are different products entirely.
