Frequently Asked Questions
Savage Rascal .22 LR for sale
Is the savage rascal good?
The Savage Rascal is widely considered an excellent youth .22 LR trainer. It features a light trigger, compact size, and simple single-shot design that suits beginners well. At around $163, it offers good value for teaching shooting fundamentals safely.
How much does a savage rascal cost?
The Savage Rascal typically costs around $163, with most variants ranging from $145 to $189. Prices across all available variants span $134 to $392. Twenty variants are sold across 23 retailers, with nineteen currently in stock.
Can you shoot 22 shorts in a savage rascal?
Yes, the Savage Rascal can fire .22 shorts. The rifle is chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle rimfire cartridges. Because it is a single-shot bolt-action, there are no cycling concerns associated with using shorts or longs.
Can you dry fire a savage rascal?
No, don't dry fire a Rascal without snap caps. It's a rimfire rifle, and repeated dry firing can damage the firing pin. A single accidental trigger pull is unlikely to cause harm, but use snap caps if you plan to practice dry firing regularly.
