Frequently Asked Questions
Ruger LCRx for sale
Is the Ruger LCRX any good?
The Ruger LCRx is well-regarded for concealed carry. It's reliable, accurate, and available in .38 Special, .357 Magnum, and .22 LR. The 3-inch barrel version offers adjustable sights for better precision. Street price runs around $600. Most shooters consider it a solid choice for everyday carry.
What is the difference between LCR and LCRx?
The LCRx features an exposed external hammer, allowing single-action shooting, while the LCR has a shrouded/concealed hammer, limiting it to double-action only. The LCRx is available in multiple barrel lengths with adjustable sights for improved accuracy. Both share the same lightweight frame and are well-suited for concealed carry.
What is the best ammo for Ruger LCRx?
For defense, Hornady Critical Defense 38 Special +P 110gr JHP performs well in the LCRx. If carrying .22 LR, Federal Punch or CCI Velocitor are reliable options. Match ammunition to your barrel length and intended use for best results.
Can you dry fire Ruger LCR 22?
Yes, Ruger explicitly states the LCR .22 can be dry fired safely without damage to the firing pin or internal components. This is a notable advantage over most .22 revolvers, which require snap caps to prevent damage.
What are the reviews of the Ruger LCR 22?
Shooters praise the LCR .22 for reliability and pleasant shooting characteristics. Users note the heavy but predictable trigger and appreciate it as a practice and instructional revolver. Some trust it for defense with quality ammunition. Overall feedback highlights solid construction and dependable performance.
