Frequently Asked Questions
Ruger 350 Legend for sale
What Ruger rifles are chambered in 350 Legend?
Ruger offers rifles in .350 Legend including two American Ranch bolt-action variants, the AR-556 MPR semi-automatic, and the American Predator Gen II bolt-action. All are currently in production.
What distance should you zero a 350 Legend?
Most shooters zero the .350 Legend at 150 yards for hunting. This keeps the bullet roughly 1.5–2.5 inches high at 100 yards, with noticeable drop beyond 200 yards. Adjust based on your typical shooting distance and bullet weight.
What's the best bullet for a 350 Legend?
Best choice depends on your use. For deer hunting, Winchester Deer Season XP 150-grain delivers reliable terminal performance. For target shooting, 145-grain FMJ rounds work well. Winchester Copper Impact 150-grain is a strong hunting alternative. Match your ammunition to your intended distance and game.
Which Ruger American Gen 2 model is best?
"Best" depends on your needs. The Ranch suits shorter barrels and adjustable stocks for versatility. The Standard offers balanced 20-inch barrel performance. The Predator provides a longer 22-inch barrel for extended-range hunting. All three share Gen II improvements like the three-position safety and cold hammer-forged barrels. Choose based on intended use.
What are the best upgrades for a Ruger American Gen 2?
Popular upgrades include aftermarket bolt handles, drop-in chassis systems like the Magpul Hunter or MDT Sport, quality scope mounts, and aftermarket triggers such as the Timney or TriggerTech. Choice depends on your intended use—hunting, precision shooting, or competition.
What are the common problems with the Ruger American 350 Legend?
Magazine feeding issues are the most reported problem with the Ruger American in .350 Legend. Users report difficulty cycling rounds from factory magazines, particularly at full capacity, requiring excessive bolt force. Spring tension and magazine fit inconsistencies are the likely causes. Contact Ruger support or try aftermarket magazines.
What magazine does a 350 Legend use?
The .350 Legend uses AR-15 pattern magazines. Most rifles ship with 5-round magazines, while aftermarket options like DuraMag and CMMG offer higher-capacity versions, including 10-round and 15-round polymer magazines. Compatibility varies by rifle model.
What is the best Ruger rifle for deer hunting?
The Ruger American Gen II in .350 Legend is a strong deer hunting choice. It offers excellent value around $569, features an adjustable stock, cold-hammer-forged barrel, and crisp Marksman trigger. The reliable bolt-action design is available in multiple configurations across major retailers.
