factory trigger, it was horrible probably 3/4 inch travel and a 7 lb pull

Wish it used metal instead of plastic like the old ones were made

Scope was way off. Missed the target entirely. It also does not come into sharp focus.

Frequently Asked Questions
Ruger 22 Auto for sale
Which Ruger 22 is the best?
Best depends on your use. The 10/22 Carbine suits general plinking and hunting. The 10/22 Target excels at precision shooting with its heavy barrel. The SR22 works for concealed carry. The Mark IV 22/45 Lite suits range shooting. Choose based on your intended purpose.
How much is a new Ruger 22?
Ruger .22 rifles and pistols vary widely in price. The popular 10/22 Carbine typically sells for $229–$350, while target and specialty models can reach $500–$600 or more. Pistols like the Mark IV 22/45 start around $350, with Tactical models reaching $580–$759. Check retailers like Cabela's or GunBroker for current pricing.
What are the common problems with Ruger 22s?
Ruger .22s occasionally experience failure to feed or extract, particularly with certain magazine types. Some users report slide wear on pistol models and light strikes. Most issues resolve with proper cleaning, quality ammunition, and magazine selection. Contact Ruger service if problems persist on new firearms.
How do I find out when my Ruger was made?
Look up your serial number on Ruger's official website using their serial number search tool. It provides the ship date and model details. For manufacturing specifics, contact Ruger Service at 336-949-5200. Note that ship date may differ from actual manufacture date, especially on older firearms.
Is the Ruger 10/22 on the banned list?
No. Ruger 10/22 rifles are not federally banned. Some states like New Jersey restrict certain configurations with collapsible stocks or pistol grips, but the standard unmodified 10/22 remains legal nationwide. Check your state's specific regulations, as restrictions vary by location.
What was the first year of the Ruger 10/22?
Ruger introduced the 10/22 in 1964. William Ruger designed it as a companion to the .44 Magnum carbine, with production beginning that year starting at serial number 1.
What are the different models of Ruger 22 pistols?
Ruger's .22 LR pistols include the Mark IV (standard and Target), Mark IV 22/45, Mark IV 22/45 Lite, SR22, and the historically significant Standard Model (1949) and Mark I, II, and III, which are discontinued. The LCP II is also available in .22 LR.
Does Ruger sell replacement parts?
Yes. Ruger sells OEM replacement parts through ShopRuger.com, covering barrels, triggers, grips, stocks, and magazines across rimfire and centerfire models. They also offer factory service including reconditioning and worn part replacement. Aftermarket alternatives are available from third-party retailers.
