Frequently Asked Questions
Ruger 10 22 Backpacker for sale
What is a 10 22 Takedown with backpacker stock?
The Ruger 10/22 Takedown Backpacker is a semi-automatic .22 LR rifle with a Magpul X-22 Backpacker stock that offers integrated storage. Its two-piece takedown design separates quickly for compact transport. It weighs roughly 4 pounds and retails around $550.
What is the best optic for a 10 22 takedown backpacker?
For backpacking with a 10/22 Takedown, a lightweight red dot like the Bushnell TRS-25 offers fast target acquisition. However, compact magnified optics like LPVOs or a Bug Buster are also popular choices, giving an edge on small targets at distance. Mount via a bridge rail to avoid zero shift from takedown play.
Do any Ruger 10/22 have a threaded barrel?
Yes. Ruger offers threaded-barrel 10/22 variants, including the 10/22-FS, with a 1/2-28 thread pattern for attaching suppressors and other muzzle devices. Prices typically run around $550, though options vary by retailer.
What distance should I zero my 10-22?
Most shooters zero their 10/22 at 25 or 50 yards. A 25-yard zero suits target shooting and close-range precision. A 50-yard zero provides a flatter trajectory for small game hunting. Choose based on your most common shooting distance, as .22 LR drop remains manageable at either setting.
What is a good sling for a Ruger 10/22?
Popular choices include the Allen Ruger sling with adjustable buckle slides and heavy-duty webbing, or a Quake tapered rubber sling for shoulder grip. Both mount to standard swivel studs. Match your choice to intended use—hunting, range shooting, or backpacking—when selecting length and material.
