Frequently Asked Questions
Kimber K6 for sale
How much is a Kimber k6 worth?
Kimber K6s revolvers average around $905 new, with a 12-month average near $918. Used models typically sell for $650–$850, averaging around $727. Prices vary by finish and configuration.
Is the Kimber K6s a good gun?
The Kimber K6s is a well-built compact .357 Magnum revolver with a smooth trigger and clean finish, making it a strong choice for carry and defense. The main drawback is cost—around $1,000—which is significantly more than comparable options like the Ruger SP101.
Can you pocket carry a Kimber K6s?
Yes. The K6s is just small enough to carry under light clothing, and pocket carry is a commonly practiced option for this revolver. A quality pocket holster like the DeSantis Nemesis helps it ride securely. OWB or IWB remain alternatives, but pocket carry works well for many users.
What is the Kimber K6s designed for?
Kimber designed the K6s as a compact .357 Magnum revolver for concealed carry and personal defense. Its six-shot cylinder, manageable size, and double-action trigger make it suitable for everyday carry. Introduced in 2016, it balances stopping power with portability.
Is the Kimber K6s 2 inch or 3 inch?
Kimber offers the K6s in both 2-inch and 3-inch barrel lengths. The 2-inch is more compact for concealed carry, while the 3-inch provides better velocity and a longer sight radius.
What is the difference between K6 and K6XS?
K6XS is lighter (15.9 oz vs 23 oz) and slightly taller with fluted cylinder grooves instead of flat sides. The tradeoff: reduced weight means sharper recoil, making follow-up shots harder. The K6s handles .357 Magnum recoil more controllably. Both fire .357 Magnum and .38 Special.
What is the capacity of the Kimber K6xs?
The Kimber K6xs holds 6 rounds in its cylinder and chambers .38 Special +P ammunition.
When did the Kimber K6XS come out?
Kimber released the original K6s revolver in 2016. The K6XS, a lighter aluminum-framed variant, began shipping in summer 2023.
