Frequently Asked Questions
Kimber 10mm for sale
Is the Kimber 10mm reliable?
Kimber's 10mm pistols, including the Camp Guard 10 and Stainless Target II, are generally considered reliable. Their 1911-based designs handle the caliber well, though performance varies by model and ammunition. Running quality brass-cased ammunition and keeping the pistol clean helps ensure consistent function.
Does Kimber make a 10 mm?
Yes, Kimber makes several 10mm pistols, including the Camp Guard 10, Super Jägare, Eclipse Custom II, and Custom TLE II. All are full-size 1911-style semi-automatics.
How much does a 1911 10mm cost?
1911-style 10mm pistols typically cost between $479 and $2,699, with an average around $1,355. Budget options like the Girsan MC1911 start near $479, while premium models can reach well above $2,000. Expect to pay roughly $800–$1,200 for a mid-range model.
Are there 10 round magazines for a Kimber 1911?
Yes, 10-round magazines exist for Kimber 1911s in .45 ACP, 9mm, and .22 LR. If you have a 10mm Kimber 1911, verify magazine compatibility for that caliber specifically. Kimber's own shop and aftermarket manufacturers like Chip McCormick and Wilson Combat offer various options. Check your model's manual to confirm compatibility.
Is it okay to dry fire a Kimber 1911?
Kimber's FAQ states dry firing centerfire pistols is safe. Modern 1911 firing pins handle it without snap caps. Point in a safe direction as a precaution. If you plan extensive dry fire practice, snap caps add a margin of protection, though they aren't strictly necessary.
